VOLUNTEER WITH US

The work happens because people show up.

We welcome volunteers, peer mentors, and community advocates. There are more ways to help than you might think.

WHY VOLUNTEERS MATTER

A foundation built by the community it serves

Most of what makes Calm Pause feel like Calm Pause comes from volunteers — parents who’ve been there, friends who want to help, professionals who give a few hours a month.

Calm Pause is run lean on purpose. We keep our overhead low and our circle wide, which means almost every event, every group, every outreach effort relies on someone who decided to show up for somebody else’s family. That somebody could be you.

You don’t need professional credentials for most volunteer roles. You don’t need a perfect history or a fancy resume. You need a willingness to sit with people who are carrying something heavy, and to do whatever small useful thing the moment calls for.

WAYS TO HELP

Four kinds of volunteers we need

01

Event Support

Help us run gatherings — setting up, welcoming people, handling logistics, keeping the space calm. Often the smallest tasks make the biggest difference.

02

Facilitation

Lead or co-lead support circles, workshops, or activities. We provide training. Most of our facilitators are parents who’ve been through this themselves.

03

Outreach

Help us find the families who haven’t heard about us yet — through your school, your faith community, your neighborhood, your own social circles.

04

Professional Services

If you’re a therapist, social worker, doctor, lawyer, accountant, designer, photographer, or anything else useful — a few hours of pro-bono time goes a long way.

You don’t have to have it all figured out to help someone else.

HOW TO START

The first step is easy

Email us. We’ll have a quick conversation about what you’re drawn to, what fits your life, and what we’re currently looking for.

We don’t do mass volunteer drives or 200-person training sessions. Volunteering with us starts with a real conversation — about who you are, what brings you here, and where you might fit. Then we go from there.

Some volunteers commit to a few hours a month. Some show up for one event and find their role from there. Some bring a specific skill they want to give. There’s no wrong way to start.
